Assistant Professor in Sea Level at Durham University
Durham University is currently advertising for an Assistant Professor in seal level within the Geography Department. We are particularly keen to hear from those whose research addresses one or more of: quantifying and/or modelling sea level, proxy or direct measurements of sea level change over various timescales, and sea level impacts and coastal change.
The successful applicant will develop world class scholarship in their field and we encourage work that develops a range of theoretical, conceptual and/or methodological approaches. Successful candidates will be close to completion of, or been awarded, a PhD in a relevant field, and demonstrate the potential for agenda-setting publications. They will show a commitment to delivering excellent teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, high-quality supervision to research postgraduates, and will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and masters-level teaching. In addition to their research, the successful candidates will perform departmental administrative tasks commensurate with their grade and contribute to our wider physical geography teaching programme.
Please get in touch with Head of Department Prof Mike Bentley m.j.bentley@durham.ac.uk if you have any questions about the role.
