Research Assistant / Postdoctoral Researcher Position - Environmental Physics Group, University of Konstanz, Germany
The Environmental Physics Group at the Limnological Institute of the University of Konstanz is seeking a full-time Research Assistant / Postdoctoral Researcher. The applicant will establish his/her own research program which strengthens and complements existing expertise and research activities of the Environmental Physics Group, which investigates the implications of physical processes for the functioning of aquatic ecosystems, transport and mixing processes, greenhouse gases, and the interplay between abiotic conditions and the development of organisms, populations and communities in lakes and reservoirs.
Requirements:
- Applicants should have successfully completed a doctoral thesis on a topic relevant to the research of the Environmental Group;
- Additional experiences in research and teaching are an advantage;
- Programming experience (especially Matlab) are an asset.

Postdoctoral Research Position in fluid-shale geochemistry & reactive transport - University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
The University of Illinois Urbana Champaign Department of Geology is seeking to hire a postdoctoral research associate to construct numerical simulations of shale-fluid reactive transport systems. The successful applicant will be a part of a multi-institution research team that is using geochemistry, fluid transport, and rock physics to understand the reactive transport behavior of unconventional reservoir stimulation use this knowledge to improve efficiency, sustainability, and the environmental footprint of fossil energy production. The position is funded for two-years with extension possible.
Qualifications:
- A PhD in hyrdrogeology, geochemistry, petroleum engineering, reactive transport modeling, or a related discipline;
- Experience in the design of numerical reactive transport imaging;
- Prior work in advanced imaging techniques and flow-through experiments are desirable.
