The goal of project 1 is for you and your group to compose the most effective 8 sentence abstract possible on a paper I assign. Each of the 6 groups will work on a different paper (bellow).

The project is in 3 parts:

Part 1 Each member will produce an 8 sentence abstract that captures 4 main components (see rubric):

Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion

Part 2. During class on October 15 and 17, using your individual efforts as a guide you will work with your group to produce the most effective possible 8 sentence abstract. You will submit this abstract to the TAs and the Instructor.

Part 3. Following an assignment in which each member of a given group assesses the group abstract to which they are assigned, during class and as a group, you will evaluate the effectiveness of an abstract composed by another group, sentence by sentence. You will submit your group assessment to the Instructor by email.
