3D Inversion of Magnetics at the Raglan Deposit
Pre - processing

Airborne magnetics data need to be reduced to an anomaly map, rather than working with raw, total magnetic field strength. For the Raglan data set, this was done by subtracting the IGRF from raw observations. In addition, the very dense data commonly acquired by airborne methods should be decimated so that a suitable number of data for the model are involved. In this case, data were down-sampled to 100 metres intervals in order to be consistent with model cell size. A total of 1600 data were used in the inversion. Data errors must also be assessed, and in this case, 2% plus 5 nT for each datum was deemed appropriate.
